I know what you're trying to say. I wish we lived in a world where we could keep doors and gates open but that gates swings both ways. I would not allow hunting on my property either and if the property owner does not post they are basically giving permission. That's the way the law is in most States. I have Friends that find half dead deer on their property not a nice thing to wake up to. finding deer with arrow stuck in their gut or heads. They had to start posting to try to put a stop of hunter trespassers. It's a sad world!

I'm glad you understand the statement of this piece, Ginette! And, it IS terribly sad we have to protect ourselves and our property from those with no respect for others or others' property. I'm of an age to remember the days of unlocked gates and open doors. But, no longer can we have a "come-on-in and sit-a-spell" attitude towards our neighbors. I miss this. :(
