Cypress Bayou
Cypress Bayou is the name for a series of wetlands in and around Jefferson, Texas. Located at the western edge of Caddo Lake, these wetlands make up a part of the biggest Cypress forest in the world. Cypress Bayou is divided into three areas, all of which are watersheds or backwaters of the Little Cypress, Big Cypress and Black Cypress creeks. Today this ancient forest is endangered due to pollution, development, and deforestation.
